PROGRAM UPDATE #2 The 30 credit hours of coursework outlined for the program will be taught over 12-16 months. The program uses a cohort design in which a selected group of participants progress through the program together by taking courses online and attending some face-to-face instruction sessions at the same time and location. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be eligible to obtain Ohio's Alternative Educator License as a Mild/Moderate Intervention Specialist for grades K - 12 and will be assigned to and employed by the represented school districts during the 20010/2011 school year. The U.S. Department of Education requires that those who have accepted financial incentives as part of the program are required to teach for three years in the district in which they were selected and initially hired. Therefore, selected participants are required to sign a three-year service agreement with the employing school district when the program begins.
