Paradigm Benders:
SSCO's Board of Trustees created Paradigm Benders in 1992. Superintendents, assistant superintendents, principals, directors, administrative staff and building administrators are among those who meet monthly to address timely educational topics, visit innovative programs, and explore new ideas, philosophies and theories within preschool through college (P-16).
Topics of educational interest are explored for those who wish to improve the achievement of Ohio's students. Occasionally, educational experts, governmental officials, and representatives from higher education institutions are invited to discuss the most relevant issues (i.e., No Child Left Behind, Emotional Intelligence, Professional Learning Communities) challenging today's educational leaders.
Annually, the Paradigm Benders select schools and other educational institutions throughout the country to visit that are on the "cutting edge of educational change." These trips are coordinated by SSCO staff, but are funded at district/personal expense.
Meetings typically are scheduled on the first Friday of the month, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the SSCO offices.
