The OCST invites you to recognize your guest teachers during National Sub Week. These five days are dedicated to the approximately 270,000 men and women that fill in for permanent teachers everyday in the United States. This year, Sub Week will be celebrated in conjunction with Teacher Appreciation Week, May 2–6, 2011.

Due to teacher absenteeism, one full year of a child's K–12 education is taught by substitute teachers. These valued educators fill a void in what can be challenging situations.

The materials below can be used as part of a plan to recognize the guest teachers in your district. Please feel free to use them as they suit your needs.
